Hi! I added this new page to my blog to document my virtual walk across Canada.
I belong to a group of senior mall-walkers, called Sneakers. I can go to the nearby mall to walk laps with each lap being 1.2 km. We walk , early in the mornings, at our own pace and have started on Canada’s East Coast, St. John’s, Newfoundland. We are trying to walk across Canada to the West Coast.
Many walkers are in Nova Scotia, Quebec, and even the Prairies. It’s been going for years, but I just started this spring, after my retirement. I hope to keep you updated on my progress.
May, 2011 – St. John’s, Newfoundland
Jun, 2011 – Goobies, Newfoundland
Sep, 2011 – Deer Lake, Newfoundland
I wonder where you are now?
I think I am probably getting close to the ferry which crosses between Newfoundland and Cape Breton Island.
What a great idea. Gathering, walking and socializing with people who share the same interest is a wonderful thing. Look forward to following your trek across Canada.
It is a great idea and perfect for Canada’s weather – freezing cold, or blistering hot!!! Thanks for commenting. – Maureen
